What goes round…!
The time was a little past 9:00 pm as we stepped out of the Bus Station. I was dog-tired and I couldn’t wait to get back home.
“I don’t know why these Pastors can’t understand that most of us are working folks” Martha, my flat mate, complained as we headed for our flat.
The mid-week service at our Church had lasted a little over two hours and I could understand why she was aggravated. She worked at the Underground and she had to be up by 3.00 am in the morning!
“I really don’t agree with most of what the Pastor was saying just now, you know,” Martha continued. “Sometimes, I think Pastors are out to make sure we don’t get to have any fun at all. I don’t really believe all this stuff about sowing and reaping. Look, there are a lot of girls who played around when we were in school. They are now happily married. I didn’t play around, I’m 28 and I’m still single. What do you make of that?” Read more
What are you saying?
Do you know that the Bible says you will have what you say? You may find this difficult to believe but the Bible actually shows that we create our world by the words we speak.
Let me show you an example. God delivered the Jews from Egypt and sent off to Canaan, the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses. The Jews got to the boundary of Canaan and sent twelve spies to go spy out the land. The lady before me was more than troubled. She was thirty-two years old, still single and most unhappy about that fact. All her friends were married with kids and she had about had enough of people trying to match make!
Aduke was by all standards a pretty lady. Light skinned and petit, she really didn’t look her age. She had a good job in an oil company and hers was a somewhat charming personality. One of her friends had asked her to see me and she had reluctantly agreed.

The two beautiful ladies sat under a giant tree, shaded from the harsh rays of the sun that was roasting the park and its visitors! Maria glanced around her, amused at several attempts to lessen the unbearable heat. Loads of people wore skimpy clothes without caring how they looked in them! Some folks really looked horrible!
It was becoming one of the hottest summers in Europe and tons of people were trooping to swimming pools in an attempt to cool off! Across her, she could see Evelyn staring at the Rose bushes a few feet away, still down cast. She appeared oblivious of her surroundings!

Where will you be, come 12 midnight?
I remember December 31st 1978. It was 11.15pm and I was becoming desperate in the company of equally desperate friends! The reason behind our condition was simple. It was 45minutes to the end of the year and we didn’t have any party to crash!

Jesus was not born on Christmas day according to Historians. Well, I don’t care about what day he was born. All that matters to me is that he came into this world! Our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, the ONE who is, who was and who is still to come took on human flesh!
