Why is the institution of marriage in such a terrible state today?
God had a purpose in mind when he established the institution of marriage as the first institution in the world. Marriage is the foundation of the home and the home is the foundation of all human society!
When God put Adam in the Garden of Eden which became Adam and Eve’s home, God commanded him to dress and to keep it. Another word for keep is to hedge about or guard.
It was Adam’s responsibility to guard his home against Satan who had been cast out of heaven even before the earth was re-created in Genesis chapter 1.
Unfortunately, Adam failed woefully! Satan attacked the first marriage and he is still attacking marriages today because he understands how important the marriage institution is to God’s plan for humanity! Satan’s quest in attacking the first marriage and in attacking marriages today is to ensure that God’s purpose for establishing the institution of marriage is not fulfilled!
By the time Satan finished with Adam and Eve, their home was destroyed and the unending battle against the institution of marriage had begun.

God has not changed His mind about divorce and He cannot because it destroys His plan and purpose for humanity.
